Q. Is it an embarrassment of riches almost?

A. I mean the thing is that when you're a very talented group on paper you still have to prove it on the field. That's what training camp is all about. You've got to work hard and get your assignments down. We've got a ways to go.

Q. Do you know when Fred Robbins will be back or Barry Cofield?A. No. I have no idea about that. Coach Coughlin can answer that.

Q. Do you have your starters penciled in or is that yet to be determined?

A. The good news is that a lot of these guys can play. We'll get a lot out of them so long as they remain unselfish, and they're willing to go out there at any given moment and perform up to their abilities.

Q. With all of the additions to the defensive line, do you think you will be able to prevent the team from wearing down like they did at the end of last year?

A. I mean if we would have won the Philadelphia game, which was a very close game, people wouldn't be talking about us having been worn down. But I mean, Osi Umenyiora wasn't there and Dave Tollefson had to go inside and play in the A-gap at defensive tackle at times.

Q. What are your impressions thus far from Chris Canty.

A. He's learning a 4-3 defense, having come from a 3-4. He's very excited, very motivated, and it's going to be very different for him when we put the pads on. It's going to be a bit of a learning experience but he's very motivated so that will help him.

Q. Is there a certain amount of plays you want your guys to get?

A. You wouldn't think so but there actually is some kind of a Calculus formula. I mean I take it mainly from what I see in the post game stats and the play-by-play. I mean it's just nice to know that you have a bunch of guys that are all capable of playing each position.
