8.8 WR Ramses Barden

Q: How do you feel that you're improving as an overall receiver?

A: I want to take a step forward every day and in every aspect of my game. It's a long process, it's a long training camp and the progress isn't going to stop once camp is over. Every day we're in the meeting room, I'm looking at the details I can add to my game. There is plenty to add, [the receivers] are bouncing things off each other, trying to make each other better. We're our biggest critics and we can use that fun competitive atmosphere and really drive each other to be the best that we can be.

Q: What have Steve [Smith] and Domenik [Hixon] taught you? Have you asked for advice?

A: The thing that I love about this team is that you don't even have to ask for advice. Somebody's already going to be there to reach their hand out and provide that information to help us with that adjustment, whether it is on a route or just adjusting to the NFL life.

Q: Do you think that you'll be used in any special ways given your size?

A: I don't know. Everybody is a threat. I like to be involved in any way that I can but wherever the team needs me is where I go. If it's setting the wedge on kickoff returns and that's what they need, then that's what I'm going to do.

Q: When you watch the film, what is the thing that you want to improve on?

A: I want to block with a little bit more consistency, I want to make sure that my best routes are all my routes. I don't want to just do some good and others not as well. Everything can be improved. There is not anything that I can't take a step forward in.

Q: Are you pleased with your performance so far?

A: I'm pleased with my effort. It'll be a long, long time before I'm ever pleased with my performance. I have a lot to learn and a lot to accomplish and I just want to make sure that each day I can look back and say I got better.

Q: What has been the biggest surprise for you so far?

A: I really try not to go into anything with any expectations, so I don't think I've really been surprised. It's more of being prepared for the worst and hope for the best in every situation.
