An Early Look: Miami Dolphins

LAST TIME OUT: The Dolphins squandered a 15-point lead with less than five minutes to go in their game against the Broncos, eventually losing 18-15 in overtime.

DOLPHINS/GIANTS CONNECTIONS: New York Giants assistant special teams coach  Larry Izzo  played for the Miami Dolphins from 1996-2000. Giants secondary/safeties coach David Merritt Sr. played for the Dolphins in 1993. Giants defensive line coach Robert Nunn was on the Dolphins coaching staff from 2000-2002.  Dolphins tight ends coach Dan Campbell played tight end for the Giants from 1999-2002. Dolphins offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo was on the Giants coaching staff from 2004-2008. Dolphins defensive coordinator Mike Nolan held the same position with the Giants from 1993-1996. Dolphins cornerback Will Allen was a first round draft choice (22nd overall) of the Giants in 2001. He played for the Giants from 2001-2005. Dolphins quarterback Sage Rosenfels played in 12 games as a holder for the Giants in 2010.

FRANCHISE VS. FRANCHISE: The Giants lead the regular season series, 4-2 (the two teams have never met in the postseason).

THE LAST TIME AGAINST MIAMI: The Giants won the first NFL International Series game and earned their sixth victory in a row on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, defeating the Miami Dolphins, 13-10, in Wembley Stadium in London, England.
