Assessing the strong finish

The Giants ended their season on a high note with a 20-6 victory over the Washington Redskins in Week 17, finishing the year at 7-9.

Despite beginning 0-6, the Giants stuck together and won seven of their last 10 games down the stretch.

"That was the whole idea," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said in his postgame press conference. "We had good leadership. With regard to that, our captains did a good job and they can't do it alone. The attitude and the approach that this team took, regardless of some of the very difficult Mondays that we've had, was very impressive from the standpoint of maturity and professionalism, and I was proud of that."
