Barbados Tourism Marketing Teams Up with the New York Giants to Promote Year-Round Travel to Destination

Giants fans will feel the heat of the Caribbean through a new partnership with Barbados Tourism Marketing

BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS - Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) is pleased to announce its recent multi-year partnership with the New York Giants starting with the 2023 season. This first of its kind partnership will allow BTMI to further position Barbados as a destination of choice for Giants fans.

The BTMI will lead the charge to further increase awareness of Barbados as a top travel destination for the New York market through social and digital content and year-round activations. This partnership provides a unique opportunity for Giants fans to experience the natural beauty, pristine beaches and vibrant culture of Barbados.

Eusi Skeete, Director of USA at BTMI, is excited to announce the collaboration. "We are thrilled to be partnering with an iconic brand like the Giants, as we continue to expand Barbados' reach across the US market," stated Skeete. "New York and Barbados' connection is a long-standing one, and this brand collaboration is just an extension of what has been a decades-long love affair."

BTMI will offer exclusive travel packages to Giants fans and will be presented as a destination of choice for Giants fans across a wide variety of media platforms. Through the partnership, Giants fans will have access to unique travel packages and experiential opportunities. Fans will experience a "Taste of Barbados" through a series of activations at select home games and special events, with many opportunities to win trips to the island. These initiatives aim to transport fans to the island through visual content creation and will play a significant role in highlighting the reasons why Barbados is the most revisited island in the Caribbean.

"We are excited to welcome BTMI as 'An Official Travel Destination of the New York Giants'," said Jessica Slenker, Senior Vice President, Corporate Partnerships for the New York Giants. "As we developed our partnership, it was clear that fan passion and loyalty is matched on both sides and we are excited to bring unique travel opportunities to life together."

The collaboration also creates a pathway for cultural exchange and opportunities for the team to learn about Barbados' rich history and Bajan culture. On Tuesday, April 18, Giants players, coaches and front office staff celebrated the kickoff of the partnership with an authentic Bajan-themed lunch prepared at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center by Chef Creig Greenidge, who made a special appearance from Barbados. Footage from the event can be found at www.giants.com/Barbados.

"As we launch this partnership, we look forward to creating greater collaborations now and in years to come," added Skeete. "Barbados is the ideal partner for the Giants and looking at the ethos of the New York Giants' brand, the synergies are undeniable and the opportunities to expand Barbados' footprint in the US are endless."

About Barbados

The island of Barbados offers a unique Caribbean experience steeped in rich history and colorful culture and rooted in remarkable landscapes. Barbados is the home of two of the three remaining Jacobean Mansions left in the Western hemisphere, as well as fully functional rum distilleries. In fact, this island is known as the birthplace of rum, commercially producing, and bottling the spirit since the 1700s. Each year, Barbados hosts several world-class events including the annual Barbados Food and Rum Festival; the annual Barbados Reggae Festival; and the annual Crop Over Festival, where celebrities such as Lewis Hamilton and its very own Rihanna are often spotted. Accommodations are wide and varied, ranging from picturesque plantation houses and villas to quaint bed and breakfast gems; prestigious international chains; and award-winning five-diamond resorts. In 2018, Barbados' accommodation sector captured 13 awards in the Top Hotels Overall, Luxury, All-Inclusive, Small, Best Service, Bargain, and Romance categories of the 'Traveler's Choice Awards'. And getting to paradise is a breeze: the Grantley Adams International Airport offers plenty of non-stop and direct services from a growing number of U.S., U.K., Canadian, Caribbean, European, and Latin American gateways, making Barbados the true gateway to the Eastern Caribbean. Visit Barbados and experience why Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards named Barbados as "One of the Top 5 Island in the Caribbean and Atlantic" in 2022, and for two years in a row it won the prestigious Star Winter Sun Destination Award at the 'Travel Bulletin Star Awards' in 2017 and 2018.
