BP Ultimate Giants Fan Contest Winners

WARRENVILLE, Ill. (January 14, 2010) – BP Products North America, Inc. announced today the two grand prize winners of the BP Ultimate Giants Fan Contest, awarding Matthew Seaman, Wappingers Falls, N.Y., and Barry Van Steele, Glenmont, N.Y., for sharing why they are the 'Ultimate' Giants' fans.  Each Grand Prize winner received two tickets to the final Giants regular season home game, pre-game on-field credentials, access to the head coach's post-game press conference, and two tickets to the first home game of the 2010 season at the new Giants Stadium.  BP also awarded eight First Prize finalists with BP gasoline for a year, and 50 Second Prize winners with a $100 BP gift card and Giants' apparel.

Van Steele has been a Giants' fan his entire life, and knows all too well the highs and lows that come with being loyal to the franchise. 

"No matter how many games the Giants win each year and how good or bad they play throughout the course of a season, the Giants are my team," said Van Steele. "Through all the wins and loses, Super Bowl victories and near misses, I wouldn't trade those memories for anything in the world. For these reasons, I am the ultimate Giants fan."

The BP Ultimate Giants Fan Contest asked fans to prove how they were the 'Ultimate' Giants fan by submitting their story and an original picture displaying their loyalty to the team.  The contest supports BP's sponsorship of the New York Giants as the team's Official Fuel.

"Giants' fans have a deep enthusiasm for their team, which was evident through the submissions that we received and witnessed through our partnership with the team," said Linda Bartman, BP Fuels Marketing Communications Director. "BP is thrilled about awarding both Matthew and Barry with this unique experience, and providing them the chance to live-out their passions for their favorite team."

BP introduced several opportunities to give fans an "ultimate" experience in its first season of sponsorship with the New York Giants. As the team played its final season at the current Giants Stadium, BP helped celebrate the greatest moments in the history of the Stadium and the players who helped make those moments legendary.  Fans have traveled to Giants Stadium for more than thirty years to provide support to their team and this season marks a close to that chapter of their lives and that page in history for the New York Giants.
