Coach Tom Coughlin

Q: How did Nicks look today?

A: He did a little individual and caught some balls. He worked a couple corner of the end zones and did a couple things. He is making progress.

Q: Is it true that it is up to him if he will play?

A: No. He will have an opinion because he has to say what he feels like but the doctors inevitably will make that call.

Q: What about Justin?

A: He has worked every day, so we will see how it goes. Hopefully, the doctors will go on with it.

Q: Did Beckum practice?

A: No.

Q: What does it mean to have Justin on the field?

A: He is the captain of the defensive team. He is very well thought of by his teammates. He is an excellent player. He is not only a premier pass rusher but a premier defensive end. Having him out there and the flexibility that will provide for you and the flexibility that you have when Osi is out there, those things are all critical for you in maneuvering your team.

Q: How much gets adjusted when he is no longer playing?

A: Some of it naturally does because of his presence, but I don't know about percentages. Naturally it does.

Q: Is Stokley a quick study?

A: Oh yeah.

Q: What does he bring?

A: His maneuverability. His ability to put his body in the right position and once he gets real sharp, he catches pretty much everything. He is something a quarterback can count on.

Q: What did you think about Osi?

A: He looked pretty good. That is a good thing. It hadn't been that way for a couple days, it's a good thing.

Q: How have the younger receivers responded to having Stokley around?

A: Well, I can see Victor has taken notice of the fact that there is competition for all these jobs. I think that is a good thing. He is aware of what's going on. We can't have the simple or complex errors. We have to do everything right and right fast.
