Q: With a guy like Frank Gore do you have to slow down your pass rush?
A: I wouldn't say that. Our first focus is obviously going to be stopping the run and if we're able to do that, then we'll get him in a passing situation and take it from there.
Q: Is he like Ahmad – has quickness and is powerful?
A: I would say outside of Adrian Peterson, he's probably the best running back in football. He's very good.
Q: Can you rattle Alex Smith? He seems like more of a 'don't make a mistake' kind of quarterback.
A: That's the way they're playing this year. They're playing solid defense. They run the football and they don't put [Alex Smith] in situations where he's going to endanger himself and they've done a tremendous job of that.
Q: How do you approach such a conservative offense?
A: We just have to, first of all, stop the run as best we can or try to contain the run. Nobody's been able to fully stop them yet, but if we contain the run and if the offense continues to play well and put up points, then we'll be able to get them out of the game they want to play. They want to control the clock and play smart ball, which is what they've done all year, which is why they're successful.
Q: Gore is the type of guy that breaks tackles for a living.
A: An excellent running back and an excellent football player. We definitely have our work cut out for us.
Q: Can David Baas give you guys any tips on their offense?
A: No. It's a completely different offense. Different system they run. There's really not much he's going to be able to say.Join other diehard Giants Fans! Follow @Giants
