Eisen's Mailbag: Answering fan questions

Today's edition of The Mailbag on

Since Hakeem Nicks has come off the PUP list does that mean he's going to play at least last preseason game?

Tom Coughlin has announced his plans for Nicks, but I highly doubt Nicks will make a preseason appearance. The goal shared by the team and the player is that he be healthy for the regular season opener on Sept. 5. It seems to make no sense to risk his health in a preseason game. Nicks won't practice for the first time until next Monday, which is August 20. The Giants play their final two preseason games on the 24th and 29th. To play him in the first would be to rush him back. To play him in either would be to unnecessarily put him in harm's way. I think we'll first see Nicks in a game against Dallas. *
