Eisen's Mailbag: Chemistry Concerns

**

How challenging will it be for Eli Manning to not only learn a new system, but develop chemistry with basically a new wide receiver corps?** -Rob

Dear Rob:
Learning a new offense after a decade in the same system has certainly been a new and unique challenge, but I disagree with the second point you raised. Ben McAdoo's system has required Manning to learn new terminology, new plays and protections and new schematic rules. But true to his character, Manning has studied diligently and has quickly learned the offense McAdoo has installed. He took the majority of the reps in OTAs and the minicamp and will have a solid foundation to build on when training camp opens next month.

Now, about those receivers…Manning's top target is expected to be Victor Cruz, as he was the previous three seasons. The other starter could be Rueben Randle, who is entering his third season. Jerrell Jernigan is entering his fourth season and Manning threw to Mario Manningham from 2008-11. The high-profile newcomer is first-round draft choice Odell Beckham Jr. Manning has been working with him for years, because they attended the same high school and Beckham has been to the Manning Passing Academy. I think chemistry with the receivers is a non-issue.
