Eisen's Mailbag: James Jones' role in WR corps

I am wondering what's been made of the James Jones signing? How has he looked so far? Will be a major contributor on the Giants already talented receiving core? ** -Theresa

Dear Theresa:
Jones has been a good addition. He's a veteran receiver who knows the offense and adds both production and leadership to the offense. Jones caught a career-high 73 passes in Oakland last season, so there's plenty of gas left in his tank. He's not going to unseat any of the top three receivers (Cruz, Beckham or Randle), but he has a good chance to be the No. 4 wideout when the season opens.

Akeem Hunt had a big kickoff return (70 yards) vs. the Bengals on Friday. What is generally considered a good statistical number for returns?
-Jeremy

Dear Jeremy:
The top 10 kickoff returners in the NFL last season had average returns between 25.4 and 31.3 yards (Adam Jones' league-leading figure). The NFL average was 23.8 yards. So any return of at least 25 yards is considered good.
