It was their second-to-last OTA practice before next week's mandatory minicamp at the same location.

Touchdowns, interceptions, nice catches and deflected passes, today's session had it all, so let's get to it.

Here is a recap of OTA No. 9:

HIGHLIGHTS

Quarterback Eli Manning opened up the first portion of 11-on-11 team drills with back-to-back touchdown passes to wide receivers Preston Parker and Rueben Randle. Randle had a handful of catches today and had a hand in most of the key plays.

Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie later stole the show by intercepting a Manning pass intended for Randle in the end zone. With his defensive teammates and coaches waving him on, Rodgers-Cromartie took it up the far sideline all the way to the opposite goal line, where he gave a salute.

Fellow defensive back Jayron Hosley made his presence known on a deflected pass intended for rookie wide receiver Geremy Davis. Cornerback Chykie also forced a few incompletions on Thursday.

Back to the offensive side of the ball, wide receiver Corey Washington made a shoestring grab in addition to a few other catches on the day.

Quarterback Ryan Nassib threw a touchdown to tight end Adrien Robinson late in practice.

NEW LINEBACKER TAKES FIELD

The Giants signed undrafted rookie linebacker Tony Johnson out of Louisiana Tech, where as a senior he finished third on the team with 69 tackles (42 solo) and 2.5 sacks.

Johnson was out on the practice field today with his new team wearing No. 46. To make room on the roster, the Giants waived linebacker Ryan Jones.

BROWN PERFECT IN WINDY CONDITIONS

While it was hot and not the cold usually associated with Giants football in East Rutherford, there was a familiar wind today that kicker Josh Brown had to fight through. But that didn't stop the 13-year NFL veteran from knocking in all of his attempts straight through the uprights.

AND THEN THERE WAS ONE

The Giants wrap up OTAs on Friday with their 10th and final practice before holding a three-day mandatory minicamp June 16-18 at the QDTC.
