Giants Postgame Confidential

*Giants rookies accounted for the game's two longest plays. Rueben Randle, the team's second-round selection, leaped high for a David Carr pass in the third quarter that gained 49 yards and set up Lawrence Tynes' third field goal.

"I was one-on-one outside with the corner (Julian Posey)," Randle said. "David did a great job of throwing the ball deep and I just went up and made the play on them.

"I played basketball coming up as a kid. I just use those same techniques and using my hands to go up there to make those strong catches."

*Running back Ahmad Bradshaw injured his hand in the game. X-rays were negative.

"Hopefully, they get the swelling down and the soreness out and whatever they do there is not that big an obstruction," Coughlin said. "We'll see where he is."

Linebacker Mark Herzlich (hip pointer) and defensive end Adrian Tracy (hamstring) also left the game).

*Fullback Henry Hynoski ran for two yards and a first down late in the first on his first-ever NFL rushing attempt. Hynoski did not carry the ball as a rookie in 2011, though he did have 12 receptions.

*Jason Pierre-Paul picked up his first two sacks of the preseason when he blew past tackle Wayne Hunter and tackled Mark Sanchez for a six-yard loss in the first quarter.

*Domenik Hixon's first catch of the preseason was a big one as he reached high to grab an Eli Manning pass for a four-yard gain on fourth-and-one.

*Manning threw an interception when his overthrown pass for Randle was picked off by LaRon Landry in the second quarter. But the Giants quickly got the ball back when they stuffed fullback John Connor for no gain on fourth-and-one.

"On the interception, I was trying to throw it away," Manning said. "I didn't get enough on it, didn't throw it high enough or far enough to get it out of bounds."

*The Giants' game captains were Kevin Boothe, Kenny Phillips and Chase Blackburn.

*Twelve Giants were not in uniform for the game, including two who are on the physically unable to perform list: Defensive tackle Chris Canty (knee) and tight end Travis Beckum (knee). Also sidelined were cornerbacks Terrell Thomas (knee), Michael Coe (hamstring) and Brandon Bing (hamstring), linebackers Michael Boley (hamstring) and Jacquian Williams (hip), defensive tackles Shaun Rogers (blood clot), Marvin Austin (back) and Marcus Thomas (signed on Thursday and has not practiced with the team), tackle Will Beatty (back) and wide receiver Hakeem Nicks (foot, has yet to practice with team).

*The Giants now trail in the annual preseason series, 23-20-1.
