The Giants have signed fullback Alex Daniels to their practice squad. Daniels, 6-2 and 265 pounds, spent two stints on the Dallas' Cowboys' practice squad in 2010. He entered the NFL as a rookie free agent last year with the Oakland Raiders. Daniels was a defensive tackle at the University of Cincinnati, where he had eight sacks as a senior in 2009 – including four against Miami of Ohio and two vs. Florida in the Sugar Bowl. He began his collegiate career at Minnesota, where he played on the defensive line before switching to running back in 2006. He transferred to Cincinnati and moved back to the D-line for his final two years after sitting out the 2007 season.

Daniels replaces linebacker Antonio Coleman, who was signed to the Buffalo Bills' 53-man roster.
