The group includes offensive linemen Adam Gettis and Emmett Cleary; wide receiver Julian Talley; defensive end Brad Bars; linebacker Cole Farrand; and defensive back C.J. Conway.

Gettis, who played 13 games for Washington in 2013, joined the Giants on Dec. 16, 2014 and was inactive for the final two games of the season. He was waived yesterday.

Cleary spent the majority of the season on the practice squads of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2013 and the Cincinnati Bengals in 2014. He signed with the Giants on Jan. 13, and was waived yesterday.

Talley originally signed with the Giants as a rookie free agent on May 11, 2012. He has played in four regular-season games, two apiece in 2013 and 2014. Talley has not caught a regular-season pass. This preseason, he had four receptions for 53 yards. Talley was waived yesterday.

Bars, a rookie from Penn State, signed with the Giants on Aug. 2. He played in all 13 games for the Nittany Lions last season and was credited with 10 tackles, including two for losses. Bars missed the 2013 season after tearing his Achilles tendon in July. He was waived yesterday.

Farrand was originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Giants on May 7, 2015. He played in all four preseason games and had 12 tackles (nine solo). At the University of Maryland, Farrand played in 44 games with 29 starts, and totaled 276 tackles (152 solo), including 15.5 tackles for losses. As a senior, he led the Terrapins with 118 tackles. Farrand was waived yesterday.

Conway, who played at nearby Montclair State, was signed on Aug. 24. He was the New Jersey Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Year in 2014, when he was also chosen to the American Football Coaches Association Division III Team, as well as First Team by USA Football. Conway led the NJAC in passes defended with 17 and was second with eight interceptions, as he also registered 51 tackles and forced two fumbles. He was  waived yesterday.
