1) Flacco strikes twice – For the second straight week, the Giants fell behind early on the road, giving up 14 points in the opening quarters each time. This Sunday it was Joe Flacco, who threw a six-yard touchdown to Torrey Smith (after the Giants went three-and-out on their first possession) and ran another in from one yard out with 4:27 remaining in the first quarter.

2) Randle's jump ball – While unable to limit the damage in Atlanta when Lawrence Tynes missed a 30-yard field goal the week before, the Giants responded to Baltimore's early 14-0 lead. On the first play of the ensuing drive, Eli Manning hooked up with Rueben Randle on a 43-yard pass deep down the middle. The play sparked David Wilson's 14-yard touchdown run four plays later, but the Giants were unable to sustain any momentum as they wouldn't score again until the closing minutes of the game.

3) Hixon called for P.I.  – Trailing 17-7 midway through the second quarter, wide receiver Domenik Hixon caught a 39-yard pass from Manning, seemingly bringing the Giants into Ravens territory nearing halftime. However, Hixon, covered by cornerback Chykie Brown, was flagged for offensive passing interference. Instead of having a first-and-10 on Baltimore's 25, the Giants were brought back to a third-and-19 from their own 26 and were unable to convert. After the Giants punted, Ray Rice scored on a 27-yard catch-and-run from Flacco to extend the lead to 24-7 at the break.

4) Ravens convert third-and-19 – Baltimore converted 11 of 18 third downs on Sunday, but none were as backbreaking to the Giants as the third-and-19 midway through the third quarter. From the Ravens' 37, Flacco hooked up with tight end Dennis Pitta for a 37-yard reception down the right side. The long conversion kept alive a drive that would only result in a field goal, but ate up 7:57 on the clock that spanned 16 plays and 82 yards. The Ravens nearly doubled the Giants' time of possession at 39:21.

5) Manning sacked again – After the Ravens' lengthy drive, the Giants needed to make something happen right away in order to keep any comeback hopes alive. However, on a third-and-10 on the ensuing drive, Manning was sacked for the third time by defensive back Omar Brown for a loss of nine yards. The Giants punted back to the Ravens, who strung together another long drive and tacked on a field goal.
