Giants outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux has been named to the 2022 All-Rookie Team by the Pro Football Writers of America, the PFWA announced Tuesday afternoon.
Thibodeaux finished his first NFL campaign with four sacks, six tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hits, 49 total tackles (33 solo), five pass breakups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one touchdown across 14 games.
The No. 5 overall pick in last year's draft had a strong end to the season, picking up a sack in three of his final five games. The outside linebacker had one of the team's top defensive plays of the season when he strip-sacked Commanders QB Taylor Heinicke, recovered the football and carried it into the end zone for a touchdown. According to Pro Football Focus, the 22-year-old also racked up 40 total pressures.
Thibodeaux is the first Giant in three years to be named to the All-Rookie Team. Dexter Lawrence earned the honor in 2019, along with Saquon Barkley in 2018. Both Lawrence and Barkley were named to the 2022 PFWA All-NFC Team on Monday.
