The premiere episode of the the NFL's Top 100 players of 2018 aired Monday on NFL Network:

There is something to be said for having the respect of your peers.

Landon Collins, who has been voted to two Pro Bowls and once first-team All-Pro by fans and media, has now been ranked among the best by his fellow players for the second consecutive year. The Giants safety came in at No. 92 in the first installment of the "Top 100 Players of 2018" on NFL Network. It was his second appearance after finishing No. 28 a year ago.

For the eighth consecutive season, current NFL players voted to determine the list, which NFL Network is revealing each week with 10 players per episode from now through June 25.

Last season, Collins, the first pick in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, led the Giants in tackles for the third consecutive season, with 99 tackles (74 solo), 23 more than runner-up Damon Harrison. He finished with 108 and 125 tackles in his first two seasons.

For his performance, Collins was selected as a starter on the NFC Pro Bowl team, his second straight appearance in the game, despite fracturing his forearm in the second-to-last game of the season in Arizona. He missed the season finale vs. Washington, ending his team-long starting streak at 47 games (plus one playoff game). Before the injury, Collins had started every game in his three-year career.

Last season, Collins was one of four Giants to make the Top 100, the most for the team since boasting five players in the wake of winning Super Bowl XLVI. Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. ranked eighth, breaking his previous record held (No. 10 in 2016) for the highest finish of any Giant.

Regarding the No. 1 spot, Tom Brady dethroned Cam Newton last year to top the list for the second time (2011) since its inception. Other past winners are J.J. Watt (2015), Peyton Manning (2014), Adrian Peterson (2013) and Aaron Rodgers (2012).

Here are past Giants representatives in the "Top 100" over the years:
