New York Giants sign DE Josh Mauro

*The Giants have signed free agent defensive end Josh Mauro, previously of the Arizona Cardinals: *

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The Giants today signed defensive end Josh Mauro, another player with ties to new coordinator James Bettcher.

Mauro, 6-6 and 282 pounds, played his first four seasons for the Arizona Cardinals, the last three under Bettcher.

Undrafted coming out of Stanford, Mauro played in 47 games with 26 starts for the Cardinals, and had 92 tackles (65 solo), 2.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He also played in three postseason games with two starts and had two tackles (one solo).

In 2017, he started seven of the 13 games in which he played and finished with 22 tackles (15 solo) and 1.0 sack.

At Stanford, Mauro played in 48 games, with 11 starts as a senior. He recorded 81 tackles, 11 sacks and one interception.
