Postgame Quotes

S ANTREL ROLLE

Q: Overall, were you satisfied with your performance?

A: Yes. I would say so. There is always room for a heck of a lot of improvement, which we will definitely get to, but it was the first preseason game. I didn't feel the part, I felt a little sluggish. At the same time, I was able to go out there and produce on the field. I'm pretty sure a lot of guys felt that way. It's the first preseason game, so everyone is just trying to feel things out right now.

Q: Would you say Eli's hit was a cheap shot?

A: No, I wouldn't say it was a cheap shot. They were just trying to make a play and sack the quarterback. I think anyone on our team would have done the same thing had we been in that situation. I definitely didn't think it was a cheap shot.

Q: First game in the new stadium, what are your thoughts?

A: It was great. It was a great atmosphere, and it will be a great place to play. I'm glad that the New York Giants came out with the first victory in the new Giants Stadium, so we're definitely happy about that.

RB AHMAD BRADSHAW

Q: Describe that 51-yard catch you had tonight:

A: I feel good out there. The trainers did a good job this offseason to get me healthy and get me ready for this opportunity. I'm just trying to take advantage of it.

Q: You had said that your ankles and feet really bothered you, so how much better are you feeling?

A: It helped me tremendously, 100 percent. I just didn't feel like myself the past couple of years. As of right now, I feel pretty much unstoppable.

Q: At the same time, you guys as a first unit only had one first down, the Jacobs TD. How disappointing was it that the first unit couldn't get that spark going?

A: It's all a test during the preseason. We just have to get a couple things right up front, and then I think we'll be fine.

Q: What about the offensive line, you guys are trying to shuffle the line. How difficult is it to find chemistry there?

A: It just takes repetition in practice. All that helps, and as far as those guys up front, they all know what they're doing. They're all good enough to do it, to the best of their ability. It's a tough job up front, and we understand that. It takes a lot, and you have to give them time and be patient with it, and then everything will be great.

RB BRANDON JACOBS

Q: Talk about the play where Eli was injured:

A: I did what they said. It was a miscommunication on both our parts. Unfortunately, things like that happen. He will be fine. He's going to take care of himself, and this organization is going to take care of him. He's going up to Albany and he'll finish up camp.

Q: Have you talked to him at all?

A: No I have not had a chance to talk to him. I'll give him a call when I get in the car.

Q: How frightening was that incident out on the field?

A: Could you ask me questions about the game? Eli is fine. No, there is nothing frightening. Eli is fine. He is going to wake up in the morning, and he is going to come back to camp in the morning ready to work. There is not going to be an issue. At all. Is that ok? We just beat the Jets, the hard knock life. It solidifies who the stadium really belongs to. That's what I want to say.

P MATT DODGE

Q: What happened on the blocked punt?

A: I have no clue. I have yet to watch the tape. I don't think that I took too long, but I very well could have. I looked up, and he was coming right at me.

Q: How do you feel about your first kick?

A: Pretty crappy. I don't know. I was very amped up, and very excited to play. I might've rushed myself a little too much, just the first time jitters I guess. I feel fine.

OL DAVID DIEHL

Q: When you don't get to see reps at left tackle in a game, does that frustrate you at all?

A: It is a little bit. The most important thing during training camp and during the preseason is that you get the reps, and the work. At the guard situation with guys getting hurt, sometimes you have to do what you've always done. The team comes before yourself, and that's how it's always been. They ask me to play, and I'm going to go out there and do my best. I get reps during camp and stuff like that, but this is the most guard I've had since I switched. Just got to go out there, evaluate, and learn from it. It's great to be able to learn from the game after a win, especially the way it ended up with a team win, overall. We just have to watch film on Wednesday, and make progress from every single one, and make sure we're getting ready for the season.
