QB David Carr

Q. Do the emotions get heightened when he (Eli Manning) is not out there for a second straight day?

A. I told myself Sunday night that I was going to start the next week. That is kind of the mentality that I have kept. Whatever would happen during the week, I would be fine with it. Really, I got my mind set early on in the week. I plan on starting. If I don't, then that's fine. I am glad to be back, but you have to prepare yourself one way or you are going to be riding a rollercoaster the whole week.

Q. Kevin (Boss) said there are times when he deals with Eli that he can just look a certain way and he knows exactly what he is thinking. Is that something you have to develop with him more?

A. Yeah, I think so. I have been out there with those guys too, it's their body language. Our guys at receiver, they do a real good job of telling you where they are going. That is one of the biggest things that they do. Especially the young guys, they know where to go in coverages, a lot better than even some veterans that I have been around. I am not saying that it is easy, but it makes it easier for us as quarterbacks.

Q. How much different do you think the game plan will be if you are out there compared to Eli?

A. I don't know, it doesn't seem like it has changed that much. We have been doing a lot of the same things that we have been doing in the past. I don't know if they are planning on coming back or what the plan was early on in the week, but it seems like the game plan is pretty much the same.

Q. Your comfort level with the receivers?

A. High. Especially those young guys, they have so much energy. They love to compete, they compete against each other in practice. It is just fun to go out there and play with them. They have so much talent you just have to get the ball in the right place. Like I said, you have one of the best offensive lines in football, if not the best. As long as they are doing their job, we should have a good day.

Q. Has that been the biggest surprise of the offense this year, the receivers?

A. I think so. In the spring and last year you could see how confident they were but you didn't know how fast it was going to translate onto the field. They shocked everybody, I think; they probably even shocked themselves a little bit. How good they have been playing, it is good for everybody.
