QB Eli Manning

Q: The defensive guys say they'd like to just be able to hit someone else, the offensive guys come out and just want to see different looks and different coverages?

A: Yeah, see different coverages, see how different players play different styles of defense and learn how to run your routes, how to get open, use your fundamentals, and everything that you've been practicing, can you do that same thing in the game? When you have to get open and you have to convert on third down and you have to see how these young guys come out and see the veterans get their timing down, you see what you need to work on still and see everything else.

Q: Are you excited about playing in your new stadium for the first time?

A: I'm definitely excited about being in the new stadium; we haven't even been in our own locker room yet. So I think just getting in there and checking that out and being able to run out and get to play a game in the new stadium is something I'm looking forward to.

Q: What's the game plan for you? Are you going to play a quarter, a couple series?

A: I don't know, I let Coach Coughlin figure that out. I figure, maybe a few series, if we have one really good series and we go down and get a touchdown, we might call it. I kind of plan for the first quarter, but I'd like to hopefully have a long drive in that first series, get a few first downs, put some points on the board and go from there.

Q: I know it's just the pre-season but you've got the Jets and that same city rivalry and you share a stadium, does that add to the excitement?

A: Yeah I think so, the fact that both of us play in the stadium and it's the first time that both of us will be in there and we're just going to go out there and just give it a good shot.

Q: There haven't been as many distractions for the Giants, and the same can't be said for the Jets, do you prefer being here in Albany rather than there in Cortland?

A: Yeah, it's been a good camp for us and guys are working hard. We've had some different things come up that we've had to deal with having some issues, with guys banged up. But we've had guys work hard and we're getting better and that's the point of training camp.

Q: You have a team and a quarterback that's won a Superbowl, what needs to be done so that last year doesn't happen again?

A: Keep working. Keep preparing. Getting better this year and working on things that we need to improve on from last year. We need to execute, have guys come together as a team and having the same goal and then coming out there and competing.

Q: Do you need to run the ball well to be successful and can you guys run the ball better than you did last year?

A: Yeah we can do it better; we need to do it better. But, it's not just one thing, it's everybody coming together, the passing game, the receivers, myself, offensive line, our defense, it's the whole works. It's everybody coming together and playing the way we're capable of playing and that's what we need to do.
