Brown was the Giants' leader in rushing attempts (139) and rushing yards (492) in 2013, his third season in his second stint with Big Blue. He was originally selected by the Giants in the fourth round (129th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft and moved on to play for Indianapolis, Carolina, Denver, and Washington before returning to the Giants in 2011.

Brown played in 18 games with 10 starts for the Giants over the last two seasons, totaling 877 yards and 11 touchdowns on 212 attempts. The Giants' running back depth now consists of David Wilson, Michael Cox, Peyton Hillis, Kendall Gaskins, and Rashad Jennings, whom they added in free agency last month. The Giants are scheduled to play the Texans at home this season.
