The Beckham Jr. Report: 3 questions with Odell Beckham Jr.

**

  1. NBA superstar LeBron James, who was one of the many admirers of your catch a few weeks ago, was in town this week and invited you to dinner and sit courtside at Madison Square Garden for Thursday night's game between the Cavaliers and Knicks. From athlete to athlete, what was it like to meet your idol?**

"It's just all so surreal. LeBron is my favorite athlete, and to be able to go to the game and eat dinner, it's just been great to meet a guy like that and just know that he's a great person and somebody you look up to.

And you meet him, and he's not something that you wouldn't expect him to be. It was definitely a lot of fun."

2. When you were unable to play the first four games of the season due to an injury, a Rookie of the Year award seemed like an unrealistic achievement. But now, with a quarter of the season left and your recent NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month award for November, you're on the short list.Do you talk to any of the other rookies about the race?

"All the time. I talk to [Bills wide receiver] Sammy [Watkins] and them. It's like a competition. You want to be the best, so you want to go against the best. But I embrace challenge. I'm looking forward to that. "[Offensive Rookie of the Month] is definitely an honor, and it's an accomplishment, a milestone. But it's not exactly where I want to be. So I've just got to keep working. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what's going to happen at the end of the year and hopefully I can get in that category for Rookie of the Year."

3. The Giants' defense is going up against your old LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger this Sunday in Tennessee. What can you tell us about him and your time playing together?

"He is a great quarterback. He's tough as nails. He's going to stand back there, he's going to take hits to make throws. He's the total package. It's definitely going to be a challenge for us, but at the same time, he's a rookie. We all make mistakes. I think the thing is to get him riled."
