Four Giants TDs – three to Hakeem Nicks – Raise $2,400
for the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance
With the first game in the win column, the Touchdowns for Families program has raised $2,400 for the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance and its Healthy U program for the 2010-2011 season.
Eli Manning tossed three touchdown passes to wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, and Ahmad Bradshaw ran for another as the New York Giants broke in their new Meadowlands stadium with a 31-18 victory over the Carolina Panthers.
The Giants started out the game in sluggish fashion, but the team surged both offensively and defensively in the second half. Nicks corralled his third TD pass, Bradshaw scored from 4-yards out and Lawrence Tynes split the uprights with a 31-yard field goal. The Giant defense turned back the Panthers by intercepting two Matt Moore passes in the end zone in the 4th quarter to ice the game
Touchdowns for Families Program:
For every touchdown the New York Giants score, Horizon BCBSNJ will donate $250.00 to the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance. The Alliance will use that money to expand its "Healthy U" program.
