Training Camp Confidential

*Coughlin said defensive tackle Shaun Rogers (calf) and Martin Parker (back) were examined by team physicians at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan today but had nothing to report regarding their condition.

*Linebacker Michael Boley, who has missed most of camp with a hamstring injury, missed another practice today.

"We're scratching our head on that one," Coughlin said. "I just keep looking at time going by. It's not a very good subject."

*Also missing practice were linebacker Jacquian Williams (hip), cornerback Michael Coe (hamstring) and tackle James Brewer (back).

*The Giants waived defensive back Janzen Jackson, a free agent from McNeese State.

*Ramses Barden, who had failed to hold onto some balls in recent practices, reached over Prince Amukamara to make a terrific catch of an Eli Manning pass.

*Amukamara made his own big play when he snatched the ball away from Domenik Hixon and intercepted a Manning pass in the end zone.

"That interception was a nice play," Coughlin said. "Well done. His teammates will look at that and not as much heat will be sent his way.  They still kid about it."

*Linebacker Mark Herzlich made another in a series of noticeable plays, knocking down a Carr pass for Isaiah Stanback.

"He's been better, he's working hard," Coughlin said of Herzlich. "He played a lot of snaps in the game, which is good for him. He's smart and he's physical and picking it up well. I think he's advancing and getting better."

*Cornerback Antwaun Molden intercepted a pass that caromed off Dan DePalma's hands. DePalma evened the score against the defense when he made a nice grab in the back of the end zone on an option pass thrown by Andre Brown.

*Today's attendance was 2,465.
