Travel Log: Giants head to Dallas

For every road game this season, Giants.com will catch up with a member of the team for a travel Q&A. This week, we talked to safety Michael Thomas:

What are the must-haves in your carry-on?

Michael Thomas: My wife has got to make sure, she double-checks for me, but obviously the essentials -- toiletries, you know what I'm saying? Make sure you don't forget your socks or drawers or all of that stuff. Headphones, got to have your headphones. Got to have an outfit. I learned the hard way as a rookie, going up there with just team attire and then you go out to eat and you're the only one with the team attire on. Everybody else got their regular 'fits, you're real embarrassed so make sure you got at least one 'fit or two different 'fits if y'all do something as a team or as a unit, go out to eat or go somewhere. Definitely got to have that and that's about it for the essentials. If you forget your charger, you're out of luck.

What do you like to do on the plane?

Michael Thomas: It depends on how the plane is set up. If it's the players all in one section, if it's a longer trip, we'll play cards or something like that. Just vibe and kick it and it's good for team bonding. If it's a shorter trip or it's closer to where the coaches are and everybody's kind of focused, then you probably are going to focus on film or I'll watch a movie if a movie is available for the plane.

Do you like to sit next to somebody on the plane?

Michael Thomas: Oh yeah, I don't like just being by myself. I love the camaraderie. I grew up with all sisters, three older sisters. I love being around the fellas and stuff like that, just chopping it up, talking about a whole bunch of other stuff.

What's the longest flight that you've ever been on?

Michael Thomas: Probably the flight to London. From West Coast to London, that took about 13 to 14 hours. With those, you can watch as many movies as you want, try to stay up. I actually did stay up the first time going there, but coming back passed out.

Have you ever been to Dallas?

Michael Thomas: Yeah, I grew up in Texas. I'm from Houston, so I'm going back to the state. A lot of my family will be at the game. Everybody else is going to be watching it, so I got to put on.
