View Andre Brown's unusual road to success

The path to the NFL is different for every player. Making it in the league is another story.

From season-ending injuries to being waived, and signed, just to be waived again, Andre Brown has experienced all of it and learned that being drafted doesn't make it any easier. Here is a timeline of the running back's career as he looks to build on his breakout season of 2012 that was cut short due to a broken leg:

April 26, 2009: Originally a 4th round (129th pick overall) draft choice by the Giants.

Aug. 14, 2009: Ruptured his left Achilles tendon in a training camp practice and spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve.

Sept. 4, 2010: Waived by the Giants after leading the team in rushing with 21 carries for 95 yards and a touchdown in the 2010 preseason.

Sept. 5, 2010: Awarded off waivers to the Denver Broncos.

Sept. 15, 2010: Waived by the Broncos.

Sept. 17, 2010: Signed to the Broncos' practice squad.

Sept. 21, 2010: Signed to Denver's active roster.

Oct. 10, 2010: First two rushing attempts of his career for a combined minus-one yard in a Week 5 loss to Baltimore. They would be his only carries until 2012.

Oct. 16, 2010: Waived by the Broncos.

Oct. 18, 2010: Awarded off waivers to the Indianapolis Colts.

Nov. 1, 2010: Waived by the Colts.

Nov. 3, 2010: Signed to the Colts' practice squad.

Nov. 6, 2010: Signed to Colts' active roster.

Nov. 8, 2010: Waived by the Colts.

Nov. 9, 2010: Awarded off waivers to the Carolina Panthers.

Nov. 16, 2010: Waived by the Panthers.

Nov. 18, 2010: Re-signed to the Broncos' practice squad.

Nov. 25, 2010: Signed by the Washington Redskins.

July 29, 2011: Waived by the Redskins.

Aug. 2, 2011: Signed by the Giants.

Sept. 3, 2011: Waived by the Giants.

Sept. 4, 2011: Signed to the Giants' practice squad.

Feb. 5, 2012: He "got a ring." - WATCH NOW

Feb. 8, 2012: Signed to the Giants' active roster.

May 17, 2012: Officially got his Super Bowl XLVI ring at the Giants' ceremony at the Tiffany and Co. flagship store in Manhattan.

Sept. 16, 2012: Scored his first touchdown in a Week 2 victory over Tampa Bay.

Sept. 20, 2012: Made his first career start, rushing for 113 yards and two touchdowns on 20 attempts in a lopsided victory at Carolina. - WATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Nov. 25, 2012: Fractured his fibula against Green Bay on a 16-yard run. The following day he was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return, which meant he would return that season only if the Giants advanced to Super Bowl XLVII. Brown finished the season with 385 yards on 73 attempts, and his eight rushing touchdowns led the team in 2012.

April 16, 2013: Returned with the team for the start of offseason conditioning healthy and ready to pick up where he left off.
