Vote Giants Extra Effort Award

No contribution can be overlooked in a winner-take-all game such as the one between the Giants and Cowboys on Sunday night. However, these three players embodied the Giants' journey to the NFC East championship, and fans can vote for Eli Manning, Victor Cruz, or Osi Umenyiora as their "Extra Effort Player of the Game."

The award is given out after each victory, and voting will be open through Wednesday.

Here is a look at the nominees and their performances:

Eli Manning added to his Pro Bowl season again on Sunday night against the Cowboys, showing why he is one of the best when it matters the most. Manning guided the offense to a 21-0 halftime lead, and after Dallas gained back some momentum in the third quarter, he throttled the division rivals for two more touchdowns in the final frame. Manning finished 24 of 33, throwing for 346 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. His 136.7 passer rating was his second-highest of the season.

What else can you say about Victor Cruz except for "Cruuuuuuuzzzzzz?" Already breaking Amani Toomer's season yardage record last week, the undrafted second-year wide receiver continued to dazzle his home crowd. Cruz followed up his 99-yard touchdown against the Jets with a 74-yarder in the first quarter on Sunday night to give the Giants the early lead they've been searching for all season. Cruz went on to catch six passes for 178 yards (29.7 AVG) and a touchdown. He finished the season third in the NFL with 1538 yards, behind Calvin Johnson (1681) and Wes Welker (1569).

He's back. After missing four games with a sprained ankle, defensive endOsi Umenyiora returned when his team needed him most. Umenyiora led the sack bonanza with 2.0 of his own while the Giants got to Tony Romo six times last night. Umenyiora also helped the Giants hold running back Felix Jones to 30 yards on 11 carries and the entire Cowboys rushing attack to just 49 yards overall.
