Week 2 Fantasy in Review

Week 2 in Fantasy Football brought a new name to the game – rookie running back Jahvid Best…with 232 all purpose yards and 3 TDs, Best won this week's Fantasy Football STUD Award! Lets take a closer look on which players put up some good numbers…

STUDS
QB: Matt Schaub- We knew Matt Schaub wouldn't stay down for very long but no one can anticipate a QB putting up the points that Schaub did in Week 1. Schaub threw for 497 Yards, 3TDs and an INT,  which in standard fantasy scoring led all passers netting around 29 points. Anyone who benched him after his subpar performance in week 1 is sure to feel burned by him once again this week. Look for Schaub to be a top 5 passer any given week.
Honorable Mentions: Aaron Rodgers, Jay Cutler

RB: Jahvid Best- The rookie from Cal broke out this week rushing for 78 yards and 2 TD's. This alone would have made him a great fantasy Running Back this weekend but Best also caught 9 passes for 154 yards and another TD! Giving your fantasy teams a whopping 40 points! Best is no fluke either, check out his highlight reel from college and one will feel silly for not taking him earlier in your drafts. Much like Arian Foster last week; Best benefits from having a Johnson at Wide Receiver.  Calvin Johnson makes it so that defenses are unable to put safeties in the box, what is what helped allow Best to run and catch all day on Sunday.
Honorable Mentions - Jason Snelling, LeSean McCoy, Frank Gore

WR: Andre Johnson - Coming off a measly 3 catch effort in Week 1, Johnson flourished in Week 2 catching 12 passes for 158 yards and a TD. Johnson was dominant on Sunday, leaping over cornerbacks and burning them consistently. While asking him to put up these numbers every week is impossible, he's arguably the best wide out in the game and should be your number 1 WR no matter who he's facing.
Honorable Mentions - Kevin Walter, Desean Jackson

TE: Antonio Gates - The stud TE did what he does best on Sunday, catch touchdowns. The Jaguars did a poor job of covering him, leaving him open in the middle on several occasions which led to the scores.  Gates fantasy stock has seen a nice increase with the holdout of Vincent Jackson, making him the top Fantasy TE in the league.
Honorable Mentions - Dustin Keller, Dallas Clark

D: Steelers- The Steelers defense abused the Titans this week recording 4 sacks, 3 Interceptions, 4 fumbles recovered and a touchdown. In fact it got so bad for the Titans that Jeff Fisher actually benched Vince Young, thinking that Kerry Collins gave the team a better chance at winning.
Honorable Mentions- Dolphins, Chargers
