The Giants will look to get back on track when they return to MetLife Stadium for a Week 3 matchup against the Titans.
The big news of the week is the injury to Jaxson Dart. The second-year quarterback will miss the remainder of the regular season due to a knee injury suffered on Monday night, which paves the way for Jameis Winston to take over.
The Titans have started the season 0-2 with losses at home to the Jets and Eagles, although they were leading against Philadelphia for most of the game.
Here are players to watch in Week 3.
QB Jameis Winston
Jameis Winston will make his first start of the season following the injury to Jaxson Dart. After coming into Monday's game in relief, the veteran signal-caller completed just 11 of 27 passes for 111 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. But as Winston, coach John Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Matt Nagy noted, the offensive gameplan going into Week 2 was built around Dart's skillset, which played a role in the offense's overall struggles.
"We look at it with Jameis that here's a guy that's played a lot of football games in his career," offensive coordinator Matt Nagy told reporters Thursday. "We have ultimate trust in him. And so, unlike the game when it happens on play seven, where you have most of your game designed around Jaxson, now we get a chance to design around Jameis' strengths and what he does. And so, I think that's our job as coaches, to make sure we put those guys in the best position possible and really show Jameis how we can do that for him to help him help us."
The 32-year-old quarterback performed well with his two starts for the Giants last season. Going up against the Packers and Lions in back-to-back weeks, Winston threw for 567 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while adding an additional score on the ground and another as a receiver. For his career, the veteran has played in 109 games with 89 starts and has totaled 24,903 passing yards, 156 touchdowns and 114 interceptions.

RB Cam Skattebo
After averaging 4.5 yards per carry against the Cowboys in Week 1, Skattebo's numbers took a hit following the injury to Dart last week. The Giants struggled to move the ball against a strong Rams defense, which led to just 36 yards on 12 carries (3.0 avg.) for the second-year running back. He did finish tied for third on the team with four targets, catching all four for 19 yards.
The Titans saw very different results when it came to stopping the run over their first two contests. In their Week 1 loss to the Jets, Tennessee surrendered 102 yards and a touchdown to running back Breece Hall, who averaged 4.6 yards per carry. Braelon Allen and the rest of the offense combined for another 50 yards and an additional touchdown on the ground.
Things got a lot better for the Titans run defense against the Eagles last week. The injury to Saquon Barkley, who was limited to just nine yards on four carries, played a role in the Titans allowing only 89 yards on 32 carries, good for an average of 2.8 yards per carry. Backup running back Tank Bigsby led the Eagles with 13 carries for 33 yards and a touchdown.
TE Isaiah Likely
After going off for eight receptions for 78 yards and two touchdowns in the season opener, Likely once again led the team in receptions in Week 2. The fifth-year tight end was targeted a team-high 10 times and caught five of those passes for 33 yards. He became just the second tight end in Giants history to have at least five receptions in each of his first two games with the franchise.
The Titans did a good job of limiting Philadelphia's tight ends last week, although they were once again aided by the starter leaving early due to an injury. Dallas Goedert suffered a knee injury after just 19 offensive snaps, which led to him catching only one pass for four yards. Johnny Mundt added two receptions for eight yards. The Titans have allowed 35 receiving yards to tight ends through the first two games of 2026, the fewest in the league.
OLB Abdul Carter
Fellow outside linebacker Brian Burns is dealing with an ankle injury, which puts his status for this week's game in question. Whether or not Burns suits up, the Giants are going to need Carter to step up. The second-year outside linebacker picked up five total pressures in the season opener against the Cowboys, including three quick pressures, and finished the game with three total tackles and one quarterback hit. He followed that up on Monday night by recording the team's first sack of the season.
While the defense has only one sack through two games, defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson knows that number will start to pick up.
"Obviously we want more sacks," Wilson told the media Thursday. "The pressures are good, but we want to get the quarterback on the ground. Kudos to the Rams. They had a really good plan, a lot of chippers against our guys. And then Matt Stafford got the ball out extremely quick. So, it'll start coming just like takeaways. Once you start getting one or two, they start to roll. And hopefully this week we can turn the table a little bit and get after their quarterback."
Titans quarterback Cam Ward has been sacked five times over the first two weeks of the season, putting Tennessee right in the middle of the pack in terms of sacks allowed. However, while starting all 17 games as a rookie last season, Ward was sacked a league-high 55 times, which lost 410 yards of offense, also the most in the NFL. His 11 fumbles also led the league last year.
S Jevón Holland
One of the biggest bright spots for the Giants to start the season has been Holland. The veteran safety, now in his second season with the team, has been all over the place for the Giants defense. He has 10 total tackles (seven solo) thus far, along with three takeaways, including a league-high two interceptions. He registered an interception of Dak Prescott in the season opener, and followed that up with an interception of Matthew Stafford, along with a forced fumble on Kyren Williams, which he recovered himself. Holland had a second forced fumble against the Rams, as well.
"He's a great football player," his defensive coordinator said Thursday. "He is a player that I admired coming out. He's a player I admired before he came here to the Giants. He's a player that does all the little things correct. Jevón is making the plays he's supposed to make because he's in position. He's being where he's supposed to be and then once the ball is in the air, he's reacting violently to it.
"If they run it, he's reacting violently to the runs. So, you see in the work ethic that he's put in, you see in the things that he's worked on throughout this offseason, throughout the practice weeks, it's just coming to fruition. And I hope he continues to get better and he's an example of when you do all the little things correctly, good things happen to you."
Ward hasn't thrown the ball a lot over the first two games, but one of his favorite targets to start the season has been tight end Gunnar Helm. While Carnell Tate leads the Titans with seven receptions on 11 targets, Helm, along with former Giant Wan'Dale Robinson, are tied for second with six receptions and seven targets apiece.
