WR Hakeem Nicks Interview

Q: What is the mentality of the team this morning? Is it more of a lost opportunity?

A: I think it is more of the fact that we can build off of it. We look at all positive and can take nothing but positive from that game. It was a hard fought game that went down to the wire. It was just two teams battling.

Q: Do you sit back and say, 'if we win the last four games, we are in?'

A: I feel like we are in a situation where we hold our own destiny and control our own destiny. We know where we want to be and we know what we want to do. We just have to get the job done.

Q: Is it going to be hard to win four in a row now?

A: I don't think it is hard. We know our opponents and who we are about to face. We just need to make sure that we prepare well for them. They are going to give us everything they've got to so we have to outperform them.

Q: With Ahmad coming back, do you think the offense can get on a roll?

A: Yes, offensively, we definitely had a spark with him coming back. It was just the intensity that he brings to our offensive huddle, to the team and to the sidelines. It was definitely good to have him back with that spark. I felt like everything was just clicking. We were running the ball very well yesterday and we were able to make some big plays in the passing game as well.

Q: Did it open some things up for you?

A: It did. The safety came down a little bit and I got some chances for some one-on-ones and Cruz did as well.

Q: Did you think you could go deep against them?

A: Yes, that is always our mentality when we are trying to take advantage of the one-on-one coverage. We try to take them deep or high-low on the defenders but we always try to look to go deep.

Q: Are you surprised by the season Victor Cruz is having?

A: No, he deserves it because he works hard. He works hard for it. He plays hard. He has heart and he has courage. He goes out there and plays well. Anytime that he has all that, it is always positive in the end. I wish him the best.

Q: What does that do for you?

A: It is a good thing for the team, not just for me personally but for the team. You have playmakers on both sides that can come up and make plays during crunch time.
