NFL.com's bold Week 4 prediction for Darren Waller

NFL.com released its bold Week 4 predictions from NFL Network analysts ahead of Week 4, and one expert believes the Giants' tight end is in for a big game Monday.

"It has yet to play elite TEs this season, but has still allowed the sixth-most receiving yards to guys at the position through three games," NFL.com's Joel Smyth wrote about the Seahawks' defense. "Waller is a great player, receiving over 20 percent of the team's targets, air yards and red zone targets this season."

Smyth went on to predict that Waller would have the strongest outing among all tight ends in Week 4 with an explosive performance on Monday Night Football.

Through three games, Waller leads the Giants with 20 targets, 12 receptions and 132 receiving yards. His yardage total is tied with Los Angeles' Tyler Higbee for the fifth-most among all tight ends, while his 20 targets match Arizona's Zach Ertz for the fourth-most at the position. Seven of Waller's 12 receptions have gone for first downs, which is also the most on the team.

The eighth-year veteran has caught a touchdown pass in three of his past four Monday games and has registered 50+ receiving yards in four of his past five outings on Monday Night Football.

As Smyth mentioned above, the Seahawks' defense entered Week 4 allowing the sixth-most receiving yards to the tight end position (167 yards). Overall, Seattle's pass defense currently ranks 31st in the league after allowing 984 yards through the air in the first three games. All three opposing quarterbacks have thrown for more than 300 yards, while four different receivers have topped the 100-yard mark, including at least one in every game.

Monday's game will be Waller's first career matchup against Seattle, as the Seahawks are one of just two teams that Waller has yet to face in his eight years in the NFL.

The final team Waller has yet to go up against are the Los Angeles Rams. The Giants are scheduled to face the Rams at MetLife Stadium in Week 17.
