Today's edition of The Mailbag on Giants.com.

If David Carr was to go down with an injury for a substantial amount of time do you think Coach Coughlin would give the back-up duties to Ryan Perrilloux or would they sign someone off the waiver wire?-Richard

*Interesting question, as I must admit I've never really thought about what happens should David Carr suffer an injury. Coughlin won't give the job to anyone – it must be earned. Perrilloux would be in the mix, because he knows the offense. But my guess is the Giants would want someone with NFL experience. The primary attribute the backup must have is the ability to win a game – or games – should something happen to Eli Manning. Perrilloux is an unknown in that regard, which is why I believe the Giants would try to find someone who has had some success in the NFL.  *
