25 Questions in 25 Days: Most exciting player

MALIK-NABERS-25-Q

Giants.com is counting down to the start of 2025 Giants Training Camp with 25 questions in 25 days.

19) Which player will make the most fireworks this season?

John Schmeelk: The answer to this question is all about what "fireworks" means to you. Let's break it down. Fireworks are explosive, so the question is what players make explosive plays? On defense they are either takeaways or sacks. Dexter Lawrence? One of the edge rushers? Maybe. But I am going to have to beg for forgiveness from my old-school, defense-first Big Blue fans with my choice.

The only answer here is Malik Nabers. He is a player we haven't written or spoken about much in the spring because, aside from some walk-through installation periods, he has not done any team work in the spring as he comes back from a toe issue that has bothered him back to his college days. But is there any doubt that he is the most explosive player on the Giants? There shouldn't be. He can win deep and over the top with his speed. He can make contested catches. He can catch and gain yards after the catch.

Nabers is once again going to be the focal point of the offense and has a quarterback who is not going to hesitate getting the ball downfield to him even when he hasn't created a lot of separation. I can easily argue he is the player that the Giants can least afford to lose because of his potential to make the most fireworks on the offensive side of the ball. Aside from the quarterback, no Giants player will touch the ball more this year than Nabers and no one will put it into the end zone more either.

On this Fourth of July as we celebrate America's quarter century, light those fireworks.
