Brian Baldinger picks OT Evan Neal as his favorite pick of draft

The Giants have garnered plenty of positive reviews for their 2022 draft class.

The latest to compliment Big Blue is former offensive lineman and current NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger.

Baldinger took a look at all of the picks from the 2022 NFL Draft and chose his 10 favorite selections from draft weekend.

Coming in at the very top of the list was none other than new Giants offensive tackle and 7th overall pick Evan Neal.

"My favorite player from this draft is big Evan Neal from the Alabama Crimson Tide..." Baldinger says. "Short yardage and goal line, line up behind Evan Neal. Just a big ol' elephant in there moving people. Giants got a good one. He was the seventh pick in the draft. He's probably going to line up and play right tackle for a long time for Big Blue."

Here are the rankings for Baldinger's top 10 favorite picks from the 2022 NFL Draft:

  1. OT Evan Neal - New York Giants (No. 7 overall)
  2. S Kyle Hamilton - Baltimore Ravens (No. 14 overall)
  3. EDGE Aidan Hutchinson - Detroit Lions (No. 2 overall)
  4. CB Ahmad Gardner - New York Jets (No. 4 overall)
  5. WR Jameson Williams - Detroit Lions (No. 12 overall)
  6. RB Breece Hall - New York Jets (No. 36 overall)
  7. QB Kenny Pickett - Pittsburgh Steelers (No. 20 overall)
  8. LB Devin Lloyd - Jacksonville Jaguars (No. 27 overall)
  9. OT Trevor Penning - New Orleans Saints (No. 19 overall)
  10. EDGE Sam Williams - Dallas Cowboys (No. 56 overall)

Bucky Brooks picks Kayvon Thibodeaux for Defensive Rookie of the Year

The 2022 regular season does not start for another four months, and a lot can change between now and September.

But that is not going to stop members of the media from selecting their early choices for Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year.

NFL Network's Rhett Lewis, Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks sat down for a conversation about the rookie class, where both Jeremiah and Brooks made their selections for each of the top rookie awards.

For Defensive Rookie of the Year, Brooks went with Giants pass rusher Kavyon Thibodeaux.

"Let's go with a pass rusher that can get double digit sacks, how about Kavyon Thibodeaux for the New York Giants?" Brooks said. "When you think about the guys who win this award as defensive ends, they're guys that are able to get 10+ sacks. When you think about first step quickness, snap count anticipation, Kayvon Thibodeaux's game should translate well to the pros, even as he's figuring it out. His natural athleticism and burst should make him get close to that mark when it comes to sack production."

As for Offensive Rookie of the Year, Brooks went with New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave.

Jeremiah chose Green Bay Packers linebacker Quay Walker on the defensive side of the ball, and New York Jets running back Breece Hall on offense.
