Game Balls: Notable performances from win over Dolphins 🏈

Following a strong outing during Thursday's joint practice in Miami, the Giants carried that momentum into Saturday's preseason matchup against the Dolphins with a 26-3 victory.

The Giants got dominant performances from all three sides of the ball as they picked up their first (preseason) win under head coach John Harbaugh.

Here are the top performers from the preseason victory.

JOHN-HARBAUGH

Coach John Harbaugh

While it may have been a preseason game, Harbaugh officially came away with his first victory as the head coach of the New York Giants on Saturday.

Offense

JAMEIS-WINSTON

QB Jameis Winston

The veteran quarterback got the start for the Giants and played the entire first half. He completed 15 of 21 passes (71.4 percent) for 150 yards. He also scored the first touchdown of the game on an 11-yard scramble.

DEVIN-SINGLETARY

RB Devin Singletary

Singletary carried the ball eight times for a game-high 40 yards, good for an average of 5.0 yards per carry, and a touchdown. He also added a four-yard reception.

DARIUS-SLAYTON

WR Darius Slayton

Slayton was targeted six times on Saturday and came down with four receptions for a game-high 58 yards.

JC-DAVIS

OL J.C. Davis

The rookie sixth-round pick got the start at left tackle and played throughout the entire contest without allowing a sack in just his second NFL game.

Defense

DENNARD-WILSON

The Whole Defense

The whole defense earned some recognition for its performance in Miami. The Dolphins ran for just 50 yards on 18 carries, good for an average of 2.8 yards per carry. In the passing game, quarterbacks Cam Miller and Mark Gronowski combined to complete only eight of 16 pass attempts for 52 yards.

Miami finished the game with just 102 total yards of offense and three first downs.

DEONTE-BANKS

CB Deonte Banks

Banks led the defense with two pass breakups and also added two tackles (one solo).

DRU-PHILLIPS

CB Dru Phillips

Phillips had three solo tackles, including a tackle for loss, and also forced a fumble.

TYLER-NUBIN

S Tyler Nubin

Nubin finished the game with three solo tackles and one pass breakup.

CALEB-MURPHY

OLB Caleb Murphy

Murphy finished the game with a team-leading four total tackles (two solo) and laid the big hit on Dolphins punt returner Tahj Washington on the final punt of the game, which led to a fumble and recovery by the Giants.
