The Giants made a practice squad transaction today, adding running back Joe Martinek and terminating the contract of defensive end Craig Marshall.

Martinek was signed as a rookie free agent on May 11 after he played in 49 games at Rutgers. He was with the team in training camp before being waived on Aug. 27. In college, Martinek rushed for 1,770 yards on 391 carries (4.5-yard average) and 17 touchdowns and caught 46 passes for 448 yards and a score.

Marshall was originally signed by the Giants on July 28, 2011. He did two short stints on the Giants' practice squad last season and was re-signed on Feb. 13. The South Florida product was waived on Aug. 31 and signed to the practice squad the following day.
