COACH-OF-THE-WEEK

East Rutherford, NJ – The New York Giants have selected Coach Jose Ramos of East Windsor High School in East Windsor, CT as the High School Girls Flag Football Coach of the Week for week 8 of the 2026 season.

The High School Girls Flag Football Coach of the Week Award is part of the Giants' continuing effort to support local high school flag football programs. Each week during the high school girls flag football season, the Giants will select one area high school head coach as the Coach of the Week winner. The selection is based on the coach's continuing commitment towards promoting youth football, developing motivated student-athletes and contributing overall to their community.

In recognition of Coach Ramos selection as Coach of the Week, a $2,000 check from The Giants Foundation will be given to the East Windsor High School girls flag football program. Coach Ramos will also receive a certificate of recognition signed by Giants Head Coach John Harbaugh and will be honored at a 2026 Giants preseason home game.

Coach Jose Ramos has quickly established himself as one of the rising leaders in Connecticut high school girls flag football. In 2025, Ramos served as an assistant coach for the Panthers girls flag football team and helped guide the program to the top of the Central Connecticut Conference and a state championship runner-up finish. Coach Ramos took over as Head Coach of the East Windsor/Windsor Locks Co-Op program in 2026 and continued the success established the previous year. Under his guidance, the team recorded a 5-1 regular season record, secured the top seed in the Class M State Championships, and had a dominant opening-round playoff performance, earning two victories by a combined score of 82-0.

Coach Ramos is known for his leadership, preparation, and commitment to player development. His passion for the game is not only evident at the high school level, but he also helps provide flag football opportunities to the youth throughout Connecticut. Ramos continues to help elevate girls flag football at every level and has played a vital role in the expansion of the game throughout the state.

"Coach Ramos has done a wonderful job as our head coach this season," said Athletic Director Dean Edwards. "He has helped build an outstanding program by creating a welcoming, competitive culture. Coach Ramos is a true leader and his student-athletes trust him to make the right decisions. We are lucky to have Coach Ramos as our coach."
