East Rutherford, NJ – The New York Giants have selected Coach Lowell Robinson of Westlake High School in Thornwood, NY as the High School Girls Flag Football Coach of the Week for week 9 of the 2026 season.
The High School Girls Flag Football Coach of the Week Award is part of the Giants' continuing effort to support local high school flag football programs. Each week during the high school girls flag football season, the Giants will select one area high school head coach as the Coach of the Week winner. The selection is based on the coach's continuing commitment towards promoting youth football, developing motivated student-athletes, and contributing overall to their community.
In recognition of Coach Robinson's selection as Coach of the Week, a $2,000 check from The Giants Foundation will be given to the Westlake High School girls flag football program. Coach Robinson will also receive a certificate of recognition signed by Giants Head Coach John Harbaugh and will be honored at a 2026 Giants preseason home game.
Coach Robinson, who leads a combined team of both Westlake High School and Briarcliff High School girls flag football student-athletes, is on a historic run with a perfect 19-0 overall record heading into the state championship playoffs. After a season with five shutout wins, while outscoring their opponents 608-162, the Wildcats just their first-ever Section 1 Class C title. In just the Section 1 tournament alone, the Wildcats outscored their opponents 129-6. Their dominance on defense has aided their historic run but sophomore quarterback Juliana Dimarino has led the way on the offensive side of the ball with over 100 career touchdowns. The Wildcats look to continue their dominance on both sides of the ball as they head to the state tournament with their sights set on winning a State Championship.
When Robinson is not coaching, he serves as a full-time special education teacher in New York City. Not only has Coach Robinson transformed the Wildcats girls flag football team into one of the top competitors in the state, Robinson also coaches tackle football in the fall along with boys basketball in the winter. Robinson's passion for sports started at a young age where he participated in sports growing up with friends and family members. His opportunities were limited as a child which is why he has now created a training company called "Better With Sports" to provide young children with affordable coaching and mentorship in a variety of sports. As a 12-year coach, Robinson takes pride in the life lessons he provides to his student-athletes while developing them into competitors on the field, impact makers in the community and strong students in the classroom.

Coach Robinson has created an environment where student-athletes are supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow both on and off the field, and the strong relationships he has built with his players are a reflection of the respect and trust he has earned throughout the program. His leadership and dedication have been invaluable in launching Girls Flag Football at Westlake and guiding the program to its current level of success. We are extremely fortunate to have Coach Robinson leading this program and serving as such a positive influence on our student-athletes and school community."
