The New York Giants re-signed running back Sandro Platzgummer, who was a free agent.
Platzgummer, 6-0 and 198 pounds, was originally signed by the Giants in 2020 as part of the NFL's International Player Pathway Program. Platzgummer played five seasons for Austria's Swarco Raiders Tirol and won two European championships with Austria's U-19 national team.
He spent time on the Giants practice squad the past two seasons but has yet to appear in a regular-season game. He did, however, break a 48-yard run in last year's preseason game against the Jets.
