- DT Kenrick Ellis was a member of the Giants during 2015 Training Camp and was released on September 6, 2015. Originally a third-round (94th overall) pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, Kenrick Ellis is entering his fifth NFL season with 47 games played and five career starts (three at defensive tackle and two at nose tackle). In four years, Ellis has 53 tackles and one sack.
- In 2014, the 6-foot-4, 346-pound Ellis played 14 games with the Jets, recording 12 tackles and his first and only career sack in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins.
- His most productive season came in 2013 when he played in a career-best 16 games as part of a run defense that held opponents to 88.3 yards per game, third best in the league, while holding ball carriers to just 3.4 yards per carry, the best in the league.
- Ellis played 32 games with 27 starts at Hampton University after transferring from South Carolina. His 94 tackles in 2010 were the most ever in a season by a Hampton defensive tackle and rank second among all defensive linemen. He appeared in 12 games at South Carolina, where he was credited with 11 tackles (10 solos), three tackles for loss, and a quarterback pressure.
For his collegiate career (South Carolina and Hampton), he totaled 195 tackles (85 solos), seven sacks, 40.5 tackles for loss and 12 quarterback pressures while starting 28 of 42 games.
- Born in Jamaica, Ellis lettered four times in football at John I. Leonard Community High School (Greenacres, Fla.) and was a Class 6A All-State and All-Conference choice as a junior and senior.
