UP NEXT

For their final road trip of the year, the Giants travel in Week 16 to face the Arizona Cardinals (6-8) at University of Phoenix Stadium.

The Giants are 80-43-2 all-time against the Cardinals.

WHAT WE LEARNED ON OFFENSE

*Interim head coach Steve Spagnuolo stuck with Eli Manning, who began the game with seven consecutive completions for 71 yards before Orleans Darkwa brought it home on a one-yard touchdown run on the opening drive. According to NFL Research, It was the first time the Giants scored a touchdown on their opening drive since Week 15, 2016 vs. Detroit.

*The Giants produced touchdowns on their first three possessions as Manning threw his 49th and 50th touchdown against the Eagles -- his most against any opponent -- to build a 20-7 lead at one point. Manning also set a career high for passing yards in the first half of a game with 252. Manning has thrown for 300 yards in two games this year, both against the Eagles. However, he also threw an interception to Ronald Darby in Giants territory midway through the second quarter, which Philadelphia turned into a touchdown.

*Wide receiver Sterling Shepard, who had a 77-yard touchdown against the Eagles in their first meeting in Week 3, broke a 67-yard score in the second quarter on Sunday. The second-year wide receiver has now caught a touchdown in each of his four career games vs. Philadelphia. He tied a career high with 11 receptions for 139 yards.

*Wide receiver Tavarres King, who had one regular-season touchdown in his career entering today, had two against the Eagles, including a 57-yard catch-and-run to pull the Giants within two points late in the third quarter.

*The Giants got down to fourth-and-goal at the six with 48 seconds remaining, needing a touchdown to stay alive. Right tackle Bobby Hart was called for a false start on the first attempt, pushing it back five yards. On fourth-and-goal at the 11, Manning tried to find tight end Evan Engram in the back of the end zone, but the rookie was closely guarded as the pass fell incomplete.

*The Giants scored a season-high 29 points, but have now failed to reach 30 since the 2015 season finale.

WHAT WE LEARNED ON DEFENSE

*In the Eagles' first game without MVP candidate Carson Wentz, who suffered a torn ACL last week, starting quarterback Nick Foles led a seven-play, 75-yard scoring drive on their opening possession, capped off by a three-yard touchdown pass to Alshon Jeffery. Foles, taking over the No. 1 scoring offense in the NFL (31.1 points per game), went 24 of 38 for 237 yards with four touchdowns to no interceptions.

*An ankle injury threatened to end Landon Collins' consecutive starts streak this week, but the safety toughed it out as long as he could on Sunday. Collins, who has never missed a start in his three-year career, recorded a tackle before having to leave late in the first half because of the ankle.

*Defensive end Olivier Vernon recorded his first sack since Week 12, stripping the ball from Foles at the end of the first quarter. However, Philadelphia recovered the ball on the play. He finished with four quarterback hits. Cornerback Eli Apple was activated for the first time since Week 10 and racked up nine tackles.

WHAT WE LEARNED ON SPECIAL TEAMS

*The Giants had an extra point, punt, and field goal blocked on Sunday. Derek Barnett got Aldrick Rosas following the Giants' touchdown on the opening drive.

Kamu Grugier-Hill blocked Brad Wing late in the first half. Philadelphia took over on the Giants 18, and three plays later, Foles threw a touchdown to take a 21-20 lead at the time. Then early in the fourth quarter, Malcolm Jenkins got a hand on Rosas' 48-yard attempt that would have put the Giants ahead by one point.
