Giants.com brings you an instant postgame recap of Thursday's game:

AT A GLANCE

In the Thanksgiving nightcap, the New York Giants fell to the Washington Redskins, 20-10, at FedEx Field. Big Blue dropped to 2-9 on the season while Washington improved to 5-6.

The Giants head back west to face the Oakland Raiders, who are 4-6 heading into their Sunday matchup with the Broncos. While Big Blue is 5-7 in the all-time series against Oakland, it has won the last three outings, most recently a 24-20 victory in 2013 at MetLife Stadium.

WHAT WE LEARNED ON OFFENSE

*A week after Chad Wheeler made his first career start at right tackle, Jon Halapio did the same on Thursday night at right guard. Their debuts were a result of injuries to Justin Pugh and D.J. Fluker as the team has now started eight different offensive line combinations in 11 games.

*The Giants punted three times in the first quarter alone, which was the story for much of the night for both sides. Big Blue's first points came on a field goal with four minutes left in the second quarter after a 16-play, 60-yard drive that took 8:29 off the clock. The Giants, however, lost the time of possession by nearly 10 minutes while going just 2-for-14 on third down. They were outgained 326-170 in total yards.

*Eli Manning had just 13 completions on 27 attempts for 113 yards, tied for the sixth-lowest total of his career as a starter. He was sacked four times, the final one coming on fourth-and-three with 2:12 remaining that all but sealed the victory for the Redskins. Manning was hit only once in last week's win vs. Kansas City.

*Giants wide receivers accounted for just five receptions, three of which came from Roger Lewis. Meanwhile, tight end Evan Engram experienced his share of rookie struggles, finishing with three receptions for 18 yards on six targets.

WHAT WE LEARNED ON DEFENSE

*Injuries continued to pile up at linebacker as Curtis Grant went down late in the first quarter with a knee injury and was carted off the field. The Giants, who were already playing without B.J. Goodson and Calvin Munson, also lost Deontae Skinner with a hamstring.

*Jamison Crowder was the sparkplug for the Redskins on Thursday night, gashing the Giants for gains for 38, 33, and 25 yards. He finished with seven receptions for 141 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter. It was Josh Doctson, though, who caught the go-ahead touchdown with 3:31 remaining in the game.

*The Giants, who came in tied for the fewest sacks in the NFL, had a season-high six against Kirk Cousins and company. Defensive ends Jason Pierre-Paul (2.0 sacks) and Olivier Vernon (1.5) led the charge while rookie defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson picked up the first of his career. Pierre-Paul hadn't recorded a sack since notching 3.0 in Denver in Week 6. Vernon didn't have any since Week 3 (he missed four games with an ankle injury).

*Cornerback Janoris Jenkins gave the defense life late in the third quarter with a 53-yard interception return touchdown, his second pick-six of the season and the seventh of his career. Jenkins also had an interception in last week's win vs. Kansas City, but he did not return that one to the end zone.

WHAT WE LEARNED ON SPECIAL TEAMS

*It was a busy night for Brad Wing and Tress Way, who combined for 16 punts in the game. Wing had one of his nine punts downed inside the 20, which cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie caught on the five-yard line.
