Jalin Hyatt, Xavier McKinney named to PFF Team of Week

The Giants picked up their second consecutive win on Sunday when they defeated the Patriots, 10-7, at MetLife Stadium.

Numerous players had key roles in the team's victory, including several guys from both sides of the ball. However, two players who had particularly strong outings have now been recognized for their dominant performances.

Wide receiver Jalin Hyatt and safety Xavier McKinney have both been named to the Pro Football Focus Team of the Week.

Hyatt had the best game of his young NFL career, setting new season-highs with five receptions for 109 yards. Both of those marks led the team in Week 12.

Hyatt had receptions of 22, 29 and 41 yards against the Patriots, the team's three longest plays of the day. He became the first Giants receiver with at least three receptions of 20 or more yards since Week 4 of the 2021 campaign. He also became the first Giant to have 100 or more receiving yards in over a year as he showed great chemistry with rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito.

"He made plays when they came his way," head coach Brian Daboll said about the rookie wide receiver. "It was big for us, you know, he's had a few big ones. I think Tommy's got a lot of trust in him. Those guys are pretty close. So, you know, that first over was a heck of a throw by Tommy, and he did a great job of getting his depth and getting his feet in. They were going to start a go, got a big third down on the shadow crosser. He's making strides."

McKinney finished the game with 10 total tackles (four solo), one interception and two passes defensed. The interception was his first of the season.

Sunday marked the fourth consecutive game in which McKinney reached double digit tackles. His 10 tackles were the most on the team.

The fourth-year safety now ranks second on the team with 86 total tackles, trailing only linebacker Bobby Okereke (113).
