For the seventh consecutive week, a Giants rookie is being recognized.
Quarterback Jaxson Dart has once again been nominated for Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week. The 22-year-old completed 14 of 24 passes for 193 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions for a 98.1 passer rating against the Eagles.
Dart also added 17 yards and an additional touchdown on the ground, giving him a rushing touchdown in four of his five starts.
"Jaxson has done a good, really good job his first five games in a lot of areas," coach Brian Daboll told the media Monday. "He's a good football player for us and we'll do the things we think that he can do well. And I think he's had a good start to his first five games. Obviously, like a few more wins, but he's done a nice job for us."
Dart has been nominated for the weekly award after each of his first five career starts. Running back Cam Skattebo, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the Week 8 loss, had been nominated three times. Skattebo's season ends with the fourth-round pick leading all rookies in total yards from scrimmage (617) and total touchdowns (seven) through eight weeks.

Dart has made some history to start his NFL career.
Following his performance in Week 8, Dart became the first quarterback in the Super Bowl era with eight or more pass touchdowns, four or more rush touchdowns, and less than five turnovers in his first five career starts.
"We're always talking about ball security. He does a good job of ball security, makes good loose plays and throws on time," Daboll added about Dart. "Again, there's always little things that we can get better at. There was from this game. But he's improved every week that he's played."
Fans can vote for Dart at nfl.com/rookies and on the NFL Mobile app through Thursday at 11 a.m. ET to determine who will bring home the Rookie of the Week championship belt for Week 8. The winner will be announced Thursday on NFL.com.
After the regular season, six players will be nominated for Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Year honors.
A look at the rookie nominees for Week 8:
QB Jaxson Dart (NYG): Completed 14 of 24 passes for 193 yards, 1 TD with 98.1 passer rating. Also rushed for 1 TD.
