TANNER-MCKEE-JAYDEN-DANIELS

11:25 p.m. -- The Eagles and Commanders, whom the Giants will face is successive weeks, met on Sunday Night Football at Northwest Stadium. Philadelphia jumped out to 10-0 lead with Tanner McKee making his third consecutive start at quarterback in place of Jalen Hurts, but Washington scored 27 unanswered points in a 27-10 victory. The Eagles' sixth consecutive loss dropped them to 2-6 on the season, while the Commanders improved to 2-4-1. Earlier in the day, the Giants' NFC East lead grew when the Cowboys fell to the Cardinals in overtime. The Cowboys are now 3-5 with the Giants sitting on top at 4-2-1.

Tuesday, October 27

4:51 p.m. -- RB Tyrone Tracy Jr., who had scored three touchdowns in the last two games, was placed on injured reserve as the Giants enter their Week 8 bye.

In corresponding moves, the Giants signed RB Gregory Desrosiers to the active roster from the Chargers' practice squad and released WR Jason Brownlee. Veteran DL Dean Lowry was also added to the practice squad.

Tracy injured his hamstring with 5:10 left in the second quarter of Sunday's 27-21 overtime victory in Houston, which improved the Giants' record to 4-2-1 and extended their lead in the NFC East.

During his bye week press conference, GM Joe Schoen said Tracy's injury will not be season-ending.

"This won't be something that's going to be long-term -- fortunately," he said.

Tracy opened the team's scoring on Sunday with a two-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. The third-year pro scored once on the ground and again through the air in Week 6 against New Orleans.

Tracy owns 2,260 yards from scrimmage and 13 total touchdowns since being selected by the Giants in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Tracy became the third player in franchise history to eclipse 1,000 scrimmage yards in each of his first two seasons, joining Odell Beckham Jr. and Saquon Barkley.

Additionally, Tracy has returned 17 kickoffs in his career for 453 yards (26.6), including a long of 55 yards in the Week 4 win over the Cardinals.

The injury comes with the running back room in the spotlight.

Following the loss to the Saints, coach John Harbaugh said someone needed to "take the bull by the horns" after all four running backs dressed for the game. Najee Harris was released two days later, and the trio of Cam Skattebo, Devin Singletary and Tracy rose to the challenge against the Texans.

Skattebo ran for a career-high 124 yards, including a career-long 42-yarder in overtime. On the next play, Singletary won the game with a 30-yard rushing touchdown.

Desrosiers, a 5-foot-11, 200-pound undrafted rookie, has yet to be appear in a game at the NFL level. In college, he saw action in 48 games with Louisville (2020-21), University of Massachusetts (2022-23) and Memphis (2024-25). He ran the ball 130 times for 791 yards (6.1 avg.) and 10 touchdowns with the Tigers.

The 6-foot-6, 296-pound Lowry brings 132 games (85 starts) of NFL experience to the Giants. He began his career as a fourth-round pick by the Packers in 2016 and spent his first seven seasons in Green Bay, missing only three regular-season games during his tenure there.

His career numbers include 271 total tackles (144 solo), 23 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, 33 quarterback hits, five fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and an interception.

Lowry also made five starts in eight postseason games with the Packers, including appearances in three NFC Championship Games.

Injuries interrupted his next two stops with the Vikings (2024) and Steelers, who released him during 53-man roster reductions after he spent all of 2025 on injured reserve.

Lowry played 35 defensive snaps in two preseason games this summer, but his last regular-season outing was on Dec. 21, 2024, against John Harbaugh's Ravens.

FINAL-OT

4:21 p.m. -- The Giants, who faced their share of adversity in the first half of the season, entered the bye week on a high note thanks to a 27-21 overtime victory over Houston Texans. Devin Singletary scored the game-winning touchdown on a 30-yard run with 7:25 left in the extra period.

For the second time in three weeks, regulation was not enough to decide the Giants' fate on a Sunday. They previously tied Washington 27-27 on the road in Week 5.

The Texans received the opening kickoff of overtime and were forced to punt. Cam Skattebo, as part of a career-high 124-yard performance after having zero touches the week before, broke a 42-yard run on the play before Singletary has the longest walk-off touchdown run by a Giant in overtime.

With J.J. McCarthy becoming their third different starting quarterback, the Giants improved to 4-2-1 heading into the break. The Texans dropped to 2-5 after winning their previous two games.

"It's a massive energy shot in the arm," coach John Harbaugh said. "It's a reward. Now, you've got to make something of it. It doesn't mean anything if you don't build on it, right? But it means something. But it doesn't mean we're going to win a championship yet. It means we have an opportunity, though."

With a two-game lead in the win column, the Giants are guaranteed to remain in first place when they resume action. They will have a chance to take total control with two divisional games upcoming – at Philadelphia and home against Washington on Thursday night – in a five-day span.

"We'll be thinking about two games as a coaching staff over the bye week," said Harbaugh, who is 15-3 in games immediately following the bye week. "The two most important games of the season will be coming up after we come back from the bye, which will set the direction for the rest of the season really. But we're going to be in this thing until the end now."

Relive the best moments from the first half of the Giants' 2026 season.
