Kayvon Thibodeaux makes ESPN's list of top players under 24

Outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux has put together a dominant 2023 campaign and is now being recognized for his performance this season.

ESPN recently released its 2023 NFL All-Youngster Team, highlighting the top players at every position 24 or younger.

Thibodeaux was selected as one of the two First-Team edge rushers.

"With high-end traits and juice off the ball, Thibodeaux has elevated his game this season after being the No. 5 pick in 2022," ESPN's Matt Bowen wrote. "His 11 sacks are eighth-most in the NFL, and he has also added 29 pressures. The tape tells us that he has developed a deeper set of counter moves in his second pro season, and the arrow is pointing up on his game."

In addition to his 11 sacks, the second-year outside linebacker has also registered 36 tackles (21 solo), 12 tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and two passes defensed.

He became the first player to reach double digit sacks in a Wink Martindale-led defense after picking up two sacks against the Commanders in Week 11. Additionally, he became just the third player over the last six seasons to have 10+ sacks over the first 11 weeks of the season within their first two years in the NFL, joining Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons and Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt.

Lions defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson was the other First-Team edge rusher on ESPN's list, while Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr. and Chiefs defensive end George Karlaftis were named to the Second-Team.
