Q: Worried about a letdown this week?
A: No, not at all. I think the guys that we have in this locker room, our team, I think we're pretty focused.
Q: What does a win like last week do for the confidence level?
A: It boosts it up some. At the same time, as a team, we're more critical of ourselves than anybody would think. We took a lot of time to look at the things that we did wrong last week and tried to get them corrected going into this week.
Re: Missed tackles against Frank Gore is a cardinal sin.
A: Most definitely. Even just watching film on him, that's where a lot of teams make mistakes is not wrapping up well and not getting him to the ground. He makes them pay for it.
Q: How do you approach an offense that doesn't turn the ball over and methodically runs it?
A: You have to be great at what you do. Play technique-sound, especially for us on defense. That's what it's going to boil down to for us – gap integrity, playing technique-sound and forcing them to make some mistakes.
Q: How do you approach Alex Smith?
A: One play at a time. Like I said earlier, they're going to run the ball. That's what they do and they do it real well. Obviously given the past couple of weeks, we struggle in that area. For us this week, a lot of the focus is on stopping the run and putting the game in [Alex Smith's] hands.
