LeBron James brings good luck to Niko Lalos

Niko Lalos had a big day on Sunday.

The undrafted rookie free agent made his NFL debut against the Bengals after being elevated to the active roster earlier in the weekend. While he did not register a tackle, Lalos made a big impact in the Week 12 win.

The 23-year-old intercepted a pass from Brandon Allen in the third quarter, which led to a Graham Gano field goal a few minutes later.

Prior to kickoff, Lalos received a shoutout from one of the biggest figures in sports.

LeBron James took to Twitter to wish Lalos luck ahead of the rookie's NFL debut. James and Lalos are both alumni of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio.

Social media reacts to Giants' Week 12 win

The Giants picked up their third consecutive win and fourth of the season when they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals, 19-17, at Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday.

The win moves the Giants into first place in the NFC East, with the Philadelphia Eagles still to play on Monday night against the Seattle Seahawks.

Daniel Jones injures hamstring; Colt McCoy steps in

Daniel Jones might want to play with extra caution in the Giants' first post-Thanksgiving Day game next year.

For the second time in his two seasons, the Giants' quarterback was injured in the game immediately after Turkey Day. Last year against Green Bay, he suffered a high ankle sprain that sidelined him for two games – and enabled Eli Manning to enjoy one last triumphant moment.

On Sunday – 72 hours after the holiday – Jones injured his right hamstring in the Giants' third consecutive victory, a 19-17 triumph against the Bengals in Cincinnati. With his status for next week's game against Seattle uncertain, Jones latest issue might open the door for Colt McCoy to temporarily join the starting lineup.

Asked after the game if he is confident this won't be a long-term injury, Jones said, "it's tough to say. I think we'll go back and look at it, examine it and go on from there, so that's my focus now and I'll certainly look to do that as soon as we get back."

Did the doctors and athletic trainers indicate he will be able to play next week in Seattle?

"No, you take it day by day and get back and look at it, examine it and work to improve it every day," he said.

Giants notch 700th regular-season victory; longest winning streak since '16

Notes and statistics from the Giants' 19-17 victory against the Cincinnati Bengals in Paul Brown Stadium:

*The Giants improved to 4-7 with their third consecutive victory – their longest winning streak since they won six in a row from Oct. 16-Nov. 27, 2016. That was the NFL's longest active streak without three consecutive victories.

*The Giants moved into a first-place tie with Washington atop the NFC East – but the Giants own the tiebreaker by virtue of their two victories against their division rivals. The 3-6-1 Philadelphia Eagles can move back ahead of both teams with a victory tomorrow night against Seattle.

*The Giants won for the first time this season outside the NFC East; they entered 0-5 in non-division games. Their last triumph against a team not in the NFC East was their 36-20 victory against Miami last Dec. 15 in Eli Manning's last career appearance.

*Six of the Giants' last seven games have been decided by three points or less, including three of their four victories.

*This was the visiting team's first victory in the 11-game Giants-Bengals series, which Cincinnati leads, 6-5. The Giants won for the first time in seven visits to Cincinnati.

*The victory was the Giants' 700th in the regular season in their 96-year history. They join the Chicago Bears (774) and Green Bay Packers (763) as the only franchises with 700 victories. The Bears and Packers face each other Sunday night. The franchise closest to the Giants is the Pittsburgh Steelers, whose 10-0 start has increased their victory total to 641.
